Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy: what to know before your first chapter
A post-launch checklist for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy: platforms, PC targets, the four collectible types, and the challenges most players miss.
Updated · Official
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has been out since August 27, 2026, so this is no longer a pre-order checklist. It is the short list of things worth knowing before you finish your first chapter — mostly because a few of them are easy to lock yourself out of, and a few are collectibles you will not want to backtrack for.
1. There are four separate collectible types, and they are all rare
The retail achievement list names four distinct collectible categories, and the global completion rate for each one is in single digits. Knowing the names in advance is the single most useful thing on this page, because it tells you what to pick up rather than what to hunt for later.
| Collectible set | Players who completed it |
|---|---|
| Blades from the Heroes’ Graves | 9.0% |
| Theseus’ Echoes | 4.3% |
| Charms | 3.4% |
| Relics of the Present and the Past | 3.2% |
Full list and reading notes: all 36 achievements. If you have already passed something, finding missed artifacts covers what chapter select does and does not let you go back for.
2. Some challenges only trigger once, in specific situations
Several achievements depend on doing a particular thing during a fight rather than on progressing. Those are the ones players report missing, and a few relate to the parry system rather than to exploration. The missable achievements guide lists them with what is actually confirmed about each.
3. Skills spend a limited resource, across six branches
The achievement list confirms the mastery system has six branches and names at least one specific skill, Echo’s Return. It does not publish the full tree or the point costs. What matters before you start spending: skill points are not refunded on death, so the first few choices are worth making deliberately.
4. Decide early how you want to handle encounters
The game supports both avoidance and direct fighting, and the difficulty options include accessibility settings that change how demanding the combat is. Read stealth or combat and difficulty and accessibility before the first real encounter rather than after.
5. Confirmed platforms
Official sources name three:
- PC
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
No Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 version is announced, and no Game Pass deal is confirmed. A previous A Plague Tale release is not evidence of a deal or a platform for this one. See platforms for the current status.
6. PC targets, and what they actually mean
Steam lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, an SSD, DirectX 12.1, Shader Model 6.6, and 75 GB of storage. The minimum target is 1080p Low at 30 FPS (Ryzen 3 3100 / Core i3-12100 with an RX 5500 XT / GTX 1060 6 GB). The recommended target is 1080p Ultra at 60 FPS (Ryzen 5 5600X / Core i5-12400F with an RX 6700 XT / RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB).
Those are the store’s published targets, not benchmarks. Full breakdown: PC system requirements and performance settings.
7. There is no separate demo
No public demo or closed beta was announced by any first-party source. The PC build comes from the Steam product page. Third-party “demo download” pages are not official access and may distribute unsafe installers.
8. What the game is, in one paragraph
Steam describes an original prequel set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem. Sophia travels to the Minotaur’s Island; the description mentions melee combat, parries, powerful strikes, and a Minoan sphere that manipulates light for puzzles. For the light puzzles specifically, start with the Minoan sphere light puzzle guide.
What this page still will not do
There is no complete chapter route, enemy health table, or puzzle solution list here, because publishing one requires the exact chapter, build, and observed trigger for each step. Where this site records a solution, it records those conditions with it. Percentages above are a snapshot read on 1 September 2026 and rise as more accounts play.
