Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Allies — Leni, Alec, Theseus & Heritage Pack

The Steam store description keeps Sophia’s supporting cast deliberately vague — it only tells you to “follow in your crew’s footsteps.” Three official Steam news posts fill that gap and actually name people. This page collects what has been confirmed about who helps Sophia, who raised her, and who turns up from myth to fight alongside her.

Everything below comes from first-party posts on the official Steam news hub for App 2713000 and from the store description itself. Where a connection is implied rather than stated, we say so.

Leni — the friend named in the release-date announcement

Leni is the one confirmed human ally the publisher has put a name to. From the August-27 release-date announcement:

“As she uncovers the truth about her own family’s connection to the island, Sophia can rely on her friend Leni to help her face dangerous enemies and deadly trials.”

That single sentence is the whole official record on Leni, so it is worth reading closely for what it does and does not say:

• Confirmed: Leni exists, is described as Sophia’s friend, and helps her face “dangerous enemies and deadly trials.”
• Not stated: Leni’s gender, age, whether Leni is playable or an escort-style companion, whether Leni is part of the plunderer crew Sophia came from, or whether Leni survives the story.

The same paragraph adds a detail that reframes the trip: “the companions she once tried to escape are never far behind.” So Sophia’s old crew are pursuers here, not helpers. Leni is singled out as the exception.

Alec — Sophia’s father, and where she comes from

Alec is Sophia’s father, and DEVBLOG #1 “Sophia’s Story” is the source. Cara, lead writer on the narrative crew, describes the structure like this: the main story takes place when Sophia is twenty-two, around 15 years before Innocence and Requiem, but the game also journeys through “her childhood in the plunderer camp where she grew up, led by her father, Alec.”

Also from that devblog, on the same character:

• Sophia is a renowned plunderer and smuggler, nicknamed “The Scorpion of the Seas.”
• She was cast out by her old mentor, and defies him in a perilous treasure hunt “that will shape her forever.”
• Requiem had already established that she was placed in a convent by her mother’s family, escaped, and found her father again — the devblog cites this as the sum total of what the team had to work with.
• Requiem was not Sophia’s first encounter with the Macula. The devblog states this directly.

Alec is not confirmed as an on-screen character in the present-day story. What is confirmed is that his camp is a playable setting for the childhood sections, and that his name is attached to a pre-order item (below) — which is a reasonable hint that he matters, but not a confirmation that he appears.

The devblog also sets up the theme these allies serve: “In her quest for freedom, Sophia will learn to rely on herself and find the right allies… To get through an ordeal as destructive as the one Sophia will face, you need to know who truly deserves your trust.”

Theseus — the “unexpected ally” from myth

The release-date post teases a second kind of help: “Sophia is about to encounter a far more unexpected ally, a mythic hero drawn from the oldest legends…”

It does not name him. The 7-minute gameplay trailer announcement does. As Sophia goes deeper into the Minotaur’s Island, she starts experiencing flashbacks to the Minoan era, and the post states that the mysterious presence resonating within her “is none other than the legendary hero Theseus, who lived centuries before her time.” Through the eyes of Theseus, she faces “even more brutal and demanding trials.”

Two things worth separating here, because they are easy to confuse:

1. The presence resonating within Sophia is Theseus — an ally, and the second perspective you play.
2. The entity hunting her through the island’s depths is something else. The store description calls it a restless presence that “seemingly knows your every move,” and the trailer post describes signs of “a terrifying entity lurking in the shadows” surfacing across both eras. That is the antagonist, not the ally.

Implied but not spelled out: that the “unexpected ally, a mythic hero” from the release-date post is the same Theseus the trailer post names. No official text joins those two sentences, though nothing else in the material fits the description.

The Heritage Pack — the free pre-order DLC

Both the Resonance FAQ and the release-date announcement list the pre-order bonus identically. Pre-ordering grants a free pre-order DLC, The Heritage Pack, containing:

The FAQ describes the pack as free with pre-order and does not mention a paid version, a deluxe edition, or a later route to obtaining it. Whether the Heritage Pack is purchasable outside the original offer is not addressed in the tracked material.

Two of the three items are named after story elements on this page, which is the neatest confirmation available that Alec and the Minoan-era thread are both load-bearing rather than background colour.

Who has not been named

The official material is quiet on a lot of the cast, and it is worth being explicit about the gaps:

• The old mentor who cast Sophia out is described but never named.
• Sophia’s mother and her mother’s family are referenced only through the Requiem backstory.
• The pursuing army and the “many enemies drawn to the Island to reclaim a mysterious treasure” have no named leader.
• The voice cast beyond Sophia. Anna Demetriou is confirmed for Sophia — see who plays Sophia — and DEVBLOG #3 noted non-English VO was still in recording. Nobody else has been announced.
• Whether Leni or Theseus is directly controllable in the way Sophia is. The trailer post says you see trials “through the eyes of Theseus,” which reads as playable, but the wording stops short of confirming a full second playable character.

Confirmed vs not confirmed

• Confirmed: Leni is Sophia’s friend and helps her through enemies and trials; Alec is Sophia’s father and led the plunderer camp of her childhood; Sophia is 22 in the main story and nicknamed “The Scorpion of the Seas”; Theseus is the presence resonating within her and a perspective you experience; the Heritage Pack is a free pre-order DLC with three listed items.
• Not confirmed: Leni’s role, fate or playability; whether Alec appears in the present-day story; that the “unexpected ally” line refers specifically to Theseus; any stats or effects for the Minoan Sword and Alec’s Pendant; whether the Heritage Pack will be sold separately later.
